N.C. State freshman guard Cat Barber suffered a minor foot injury on Wednesday in a pickup game at the team's practice facility.

Barber, who was a McDonald's All-American at Hampton (Va.) High School last season, had his left foot evaluated and x-rayed on Wednesday. The x-rays were clean but Barber is wearing a walking boot as a precaution.

Barber posted a picture of himself wearing the walking boot on Twitter on Wednesday. He also posted the tweet:"Feel like I wanna just cry mane smh."

Barber subsequently deleted the post with the picture from his Twitter account. Barber, rated No. 26 nationally in the recruiting class by ESPN, is the most heralded of the five new additions to the Wolfpack's roster.

The 6-2, 165-pound guard is expected to contend for a starting spot in the backcourt. He averaged 20.2 points per game as a senior at Hampton and had 11 points and four assists in the McDonald's Game in April.

Backcourt depth is a concern for the Wolfpack this upcoming season. Sophomore Tyler Lewis is the only returning scholarship guard on the roster. Lewis, Barber, junior college transfer Desmond Lee and LSU transfer Ralston Turner are all expected to play major minutes.
